Cameron and Noah are getting that Star Wars set for their birthdays this month. I get the biggest kick out of the Princess Leia in the bikini! Doesn't she also have the tiny chain to keep her to Jabba?

Ya, that Princess Leia is a little scarry looking. The ship is very cool though. Star Wars Rules!! You guys did a great job!!

Is Lydia very keen on the Starwars set? She seems to have a "big deal!" look on her face.

Carla, yes you can see the little chain beside Leia in the photo. :-)

Mom, Lidia does really like the Star Wars set. However, I knew she wouldn't be playing with it as much as G and M, so I let her get some beads.

I feel good when I declutter--unfortunately, I don't have my kids doing as much of it as they should. We do ours between Thanksgiving and Christmas in preparation for the onslaught of new stuff--and then I usually get fed up and do it again some time in the summer.

I try to be very thoughtful and deliberate about gift giving--we don't have a lot of money for stuff and my kids like expensive things (like lego sets)so we do really well in selecting things that are well-used by the kids. I just don't worry any more about grandparent gifts or friend gifts--maybe relatives would notice, but I think very few people would even remember what gifts they've given kids, unless it was very unusual or expensive. Sadly we end up tossing lots of Happy Meal toys--which doesn't say good things about our eating habits!

Maybe this is passing the buck, but I go through the obviously broken and not usable stuff but we take things to Goodwill and Savers. I know they also end up throwing a lot out, but at least they can select out those things they can resell. My kids (and some others in our neighborhood) would also put out a table in the yard and sell them in bags for a quarter or so. They felt like they were doing a good thing, although they just ended up buying each other's junk so you don't actually get rid of it!

You do realize how risque Laeah's outfit is? You're probably poisoning your daughters.

Never fear sister-oh-mine. I've watched Star Wars for years and I hardly ever dress up like Laeah!-dtv

See, Mal? If dtv can resist dressing as Leia, than anyone can.

Lee, Bernie's doll is a fairy, so I guess those are fairy wings. :-)
