escape

The kids have been pretending this afternoon that there is a fire in the house and they have to escape through G's new egress window. It's proved very thrilling. They just came up and asked me, in five minutes or so, to yell down to them "The house is filling with toxic gas! Run for your lives!" so that they could be caught going about their business unawares.

That gave me a good laugh! At least they'll be prepared if it ever really does happen.

I love it! What fun for them. Make sure that window stays locked though! (I know, like I had to say that.) I am one of those who wakes up at three in the morning and will make sure our windows are locked.

I am that way too. But get this: this morning I found a little reprimand note from the police on my windshield. It seems that our garage door was left open all night. A certain person (not mentioning any names) has the responsibility of locking up our house at night. Last night that person watched a World Cup game and was so overcome by the unfavorable result that this person completely forgot about locking up our house.

What a good idea! My dad was born in Clearwater Mn. I love seeing the pictures that you took.

Hahahaha! That's brilliant! Man, we never got our mum in on things, but now that I think about it, she could've proved to be most useful!

What a fun game to play!

We went to bed with the smell of smoke in the air from all the wildfires around our area. I couldn't sleep for all the bad dreams of fire being swept across our valley by 50 mph winds and engulfing us because we couldn't decide what to take. I think I'll make a list to post at the door. We might even make a game of it too.
