release

Just when I think I'm going to do some good in my calling, I get released! Yes, today I was released as activities co-chair and called as gospel doctrine teacher. I'm so excited!

I bet that's a weight lifted off your shoulders. In a way it is a shame though, I mean, if they still end up having a huge amount of activities and there's no change then the problem still remains. I consider it a problem when we are told to go to all the activities but end up being overwhelmed by them than it is non-productive.

Something I consider a problem here at the moment is the way some people are giving prayers. They have gotten so far away from the actual set-up of a prayer (trying to be flowery and poetic) that I don't know if I can say 'Amen' at the end of it. The only thing that resembles a prayer is the beginning and end. The rest is more like a talk. Others talk about how strange it is but I seem to be the only one that thinks of it as a problem. I mean- I don't even know what they are talking about when they pray. Very strange. Maybe I'm just being fussy but there should be some semblance of a prayer in it.

I missed this announcement! (You know how we are always about 15 minutes late to church...) You will be an awesome gospel doctrine teacher! I look forward to your lessons. But I hope you know how much you were appreciated as activities co-director. I, for one, will never forget that Christmas party.
