I know. And I'm not sure in what sense he meant that. I almost think he meant, "This is not over--unfortunately the people could still block this."

What I meant by the post is that the people are the ones who will decide. If the citizens of Maine do not agree with that legislation, they can do a people's veto and referendum.

Casey says he wasn't really surprised--he thinks Mainers may not be primarily thought of as conservative or liberal, but they're definitely pro-"mind your own business"!

That's true. And the great thing about Mainers is that they're not very litigous. I can't see a Mainer suing someone for having traditional values.

A Mainer might not but there are many "from away" who would be happy to sue.
